Signs By Benchmark: Composite Monument Signage

The 24′ high x 24′ wide monument was designed to encapsulate a large WatchFire electronic message center (EMC). The acrylic stucco and EIFS stone finish would match elements of existing buildings.

To allow our Signs By Benchmark team to accurately match the colorful pattern of existing stone, the Indigo team took high quality digital photos of the building exterior, including those taken while holding paint sample swatches against various stone colors.

Working from Indigo’s design and photos, our Signs By Benchmark team went to work, crafting its expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam medium into a stunning, colossal sign. Base and cap were finished in acrylic stucco to match building finishes. The EIFS stone body of the sign was hand carved then painted to replicate the multi-color existing stone.

For ease of EMC insertion, electrical access channels were built into the sign. To facilitate installation, pick points were created in the sign top. The entire sign was encased in Signs By Benchmark’s signature hardcoat, ensuring long term durability in adverse weather conditions.
