The city of Warroad, Minnesota was looking to add monument identity signs to encompass the spirit of northern Minnesota and nearby favorite Lake of the Woods. Equipped with desired design elements from the famed fishing locale, Ross Lewis Sign Company of Bemidji, Minnesota went to work designing various models for city officials to review. Once the finish designs were approved, Ross Lewis Sign Company owner Ross Lewis turned to Signs By Benchmark to help bring the ideas to reality.

The city requested two entrance signs measuring 48” x 77” x 240” that featured EIFS stone finish and replicated timber woodgrain with decorative metal accessories. Each entrance sign integrated a sign cabinet that proudly announced “Welcome to Warroad” with the city’s signature branding.
The Warroad International Memorial Airport coordinated its identity signage to complement the new city signs, further building the city’s brand. The airport sign included matching stone and timber design elements, but with a smaller footprint at 25” x 32” x 144”.
Signs By Benchmark delivered the Warroad signs with foam voids in place of the sign cabinets that were later installed by the Ross Lewis staff to ensure they delivered as expected. Lewis noted that all three signs were installed in one day, including their 3-hour drive (one way) to the jobsite, which benefited both his team and his customer.
“They [city officials] were very excited to have the signs installed and were quite pleased with the finished product,” said Lewis.
The self-proclaimed “Walleye Capital of the World” is now outfitted with monument identity signs that welcome tourists year-round.
