| When the Light of Christ Lutheran Church needed a new sign that could easily display various messages, they were sure of one thing – they wanted to avoid letter tracking that could be susceptible to dust and debris. Instead, they decided on interchangeable message panels that could be easily exchanged while maintaining a clean, professional appearance.On a budget and planning for a monument style sign, the church called Herald Journal Sign & Graphics of Winsted, Minn. for a solution. “That’s when we called Signs By Benchmark,” said Troy Feltmann of Herald Journal Sign & Graphics. “We knew they could create the type of sign into which panels could be mounted.”
The successful collaboration between the two companies resulted in an affordable sign that completely met the customer’s needs. Measuring 11′ 7″ wide x 7′ 6″ high x 20 1/2″ deep, the double-sided, composite core sign features raised panels on the columns and a two-color stucco finish. To make the sign as turnkey as possible, Signs By Benchmark staff installed a permanently attached polymetal upper identification panel and three removable lower message panels on each side of the sign. Herald Journal Sign & Graphics personnel then applied vinyl graphics prior to sign installation. “Working with Signs By Benchmark was so easy,” said Feltmann. “The project underwent many revisions as the church committee decided exactly what was needed, but with every change, the Signs By Benchmark designers quickly provided revisions.
