Updating signage can be an exciting process for customers and an opportunity for sign companies to incorporate new and innovative products that offer improvements to traditional signage.
The Bemidji Technology Park was looking to update its identity sign, originally installed in 1996 when the industrial park was opened as a development for local businesses. With a design idea in mind, the industrial park’s cooperative team called Ross Lewis Sign Company of Bemidji, Minn. to help bring new life to their signage.
“The sign industry has changed so much since the original sign was installed,” said Ross Lewis Sign Company Installation Foreman Mike Oelrich. “We have lots of new capabilities and options to add.”
Coming off another successful project with Signs By Benchmark, the team at Ross Lewis proposed adding a faux birch tree accent to the Bemidji Technology Park sign, knowing the capabilities of Signs By Benchmark. To demonstrate what the customer could expect, Signs By Benchmark sent a sample of its faux birch wood.
“Allowing customers to touch and feel a sample helps diminish any fears of foam-core signs and accents,” said Signs By Benchmark Sales Representative Craig Wien. “The durability of our signature hardcoat and custom finishes add so much versatility, to an already robust sign industry.”
Signs By Benchmark also produced the 100” x 24” x 28” EIFS stone base that ties in the colors from all elements of the Bemidji Technology Park sign. To allow the sign to be visible at night, Ross Lewis Sign Company also embedded LED lighting into the birch side accent and topper, giving an effervescent effect to the main sign cabinet that displays tenant information.
“We had a great experience with the Signs By Benchmark staff,” said Oelrich. “And our customer is very impressed with the finished sign.”
