| Our Signs By Benchmark team was excited to contribute to the Lake Area Technical Institute (LATI) independently organized TED event in Watertown, South Dakota. True to the TED mission, the event was hosted to share motivational ideas through a series of talks and presentations.
Knowing that such an event required suitable interior signage that would add to the atmosphere, yet be lightweight for easy transportation and durable storage for repeated use, the LATI team asked Signs By Benchmark to be a sponsor and provide letters that would command a “look at me” presence. Inspired by the nature of the event their product would advertise, the team had no trouble turning out the 2′ high letters as Special Event signage. Created from EPS cellular plastic, the letters were CNC cut, coated with Signs By Benchmark’s signature hardcoat to ensure years of durability, then painted in bright, eye-catching colors. “The stage and setting that we had looked great,” said Shawn Kulla of LATI. “But when the TEDxLATI letters were placed on stage the whole atmosphere changed. It gave a grand feel to our small inaugural event.
