Signs By Benchmark: Composite Monument Signage

The creative team at Coca-Cola went to work deciding how they could best showcase a 10′ three dimensional replica Coca-Cola™ can while meeting marketing needs (aka creating thirst within the consumer)!

With the parade season dead ahead, the answer was an 8′ wide x 35′ long “glacier” mobile float in which the replica would rest, cool as ice.

Once the concept was established, designers from Coca-Cola Bottling Company, United, and Signs By Benchmark put their heads together to create, then tool the colossal float design. Meanwhile, Signs By Benchmark artisans were already busy creating the 10′ replica beverage can using a cellular plastic core and branded vinyl wrap.

The float was also created from EPS expanded polystyrene cellular plastic – the perfect lightweight medium that would make maneuvering the float so much easier. Cellular plastic blocks were CNC-cut, then hand sculpted to portray an icy glacier terrain. Once assembled, all parts were sealed with Signs By Benchmarks signature hard coat for exceptional strength and durability.
