Signs By Benchmark, in conjunction with Persona and Clover Signs, has been recognized by Sign Builder Illustrated magazine as a top project of 2019 for its collaboration on a 26’ tall alien identity sign. The editorial staff reviewed projects nationwide occurring in the past twelve months ranging in categories from digital to dimensional. Projects were awarded based on superior design, fabrication, engineering and installation.
“Of all the projects in the [identity] category, we deemed the alien the most creative and outstanding,” said Sign Builder Illustrated Editor Jeff Wooten.
The collaborative project features a 20’ foam-core alien, hand-crafted by Signs By Benchmark, that appears to be holding an internally illuminated LED sign cabinet over its head. The sign cabinet, produced by Persona, features the Dunkin’-Baskin Robbins logo, boldly announcing its new location in Roswell, N.M. The entire display stands at a total height of 26’ with strategically placed steel poles and plates to maintain the structural integrity of the display.
“It is always rewarding to have the outstanding work of our team recognized,” said Signs By Benchmark President Bob Reiter. “But to share this with a fellow Watertown [S.D.] manufacturer is special. It speaks to the talent and hard work of our community.”
Persona, headquartered in Watertown, S.D. since 1980, is one of the largest sign and lighting companies in the U.S. with five manufacturing locations.
Signs By Benchmark, a division of Benchmark Foam, is a wholesale, foam-core sign manufacturer, specializing in custom exterior and interior signs and components such as bases, pole covers, tops and architectural accents.
